All the Town Council meetings and those of its Committees are open to the public. Agendas for the meetings are displayed on the Town Council notice board outside the Town Hall.

As Llandudno’s Committees have delegated powers to act on decisions made, all members of the Town Council are on all Committees, unless they specify otherwise.

Community Services & Tourism


Meets on a Tuesday, at 7pm, and currently has 19 members.

  • The Community Services & Tourism Committee is constituted as a Standing Committee of Llandudno Town Council.

  •  Oversees the management of any land, memorials, decorative lighting, public conveniences, and street furniture under the remit of the Town Council.

  •  The Committee’s remit also extends to considering those services and amenities that impact on the community as a whole, and provides support to other levels of local government where appropriate. This includes Tourism and leisure, environment, entertainment and the arts, waste collection and recycling, public order and community safety, local community organisations and events.

  • Responds on behalf of the Town Council to consultation documents relevant to the work of the Committee.

  • Oversees Llandudno Community Events

  • The Community Services & Tourism Committee may appoint Sub Committees or Working Parties to facilitate the work of the Committee.

Planning & Transportation


Meets the first Wednesday of every month at 6.00pm, and currently has 9 members

  • The Planning & Transportation Committee is constituted as a Standing Committee of Llandudno Town Council.

  • The Town Council is a statutory planning consultee and its Planning Committee meets to look at all Llandudno related planning applications submitted to Conwy County Borough Council (CCBC) which is the local planning authority. The Planning Committee deliberates on each application and will inform CCBC whether they Recommend Approval or Refusal of an application. This must be on planning grounds.

  • The Committee also has delegated powers to respond on behalf of the Council in respect of all applications relating to the preservation, felling or other works with respect to trees and tree preservation orders ; appeals against a decision by the Planning Authority, including the preparation of submissions to be made to an Inspector; advise on responses to be made in relation to the Conwy LDP ;and act as a consultee in respect of matters relating to the built environment, roads and highways, road safety, footpaths, car parking, traffic management, traffic regulation

  • The Planning & Transportation Committee may appoint Sub Committees or Working Parties to facilitate the work of the Committee.

Finance & General Purposes Committee


Meets on a Thursday, at 7pm, and currently has 19 members.

  • The Finance & General Purposes Committee is constituted as a Standing Committee of Llandudno Town Council.

  • The Committee is responsible for all aspects of the financial administration of the Council including: income, expenditure, accounts and audit, financial regulations, legal and contractual matters.

  • Advises the Council on the annual budget estimates and the level of Precept to be levied each year

  • Determination of corporate polices and strategies, staff and employment matters

  • Determination of applications for grant aid

  • Maintenance and development of IT facilities for the Council.

  • The Finance & GP Committee may appoint Sub Committees or Working Parties to facilitate the work of the Committee.
